The situation in Toretsk, within the area of responsibility of the Joint Forces Operation
Luhansk, is the most challenging - since the beginning of the day, the Russian Federation has conducted 11 assaults, some of which are still ongoing. This was reported by the spokesperson for the Joint Forces Operation
Luhansk, Anastasia Bobovnikova, in response to a question about the current operational situation in Toretsk, as
reported by
Ukrinform on Tuesday, December 24. Fighting in the city is taking place for every house, with Ukrainian units constantly having to fend off enemy attacks. In some instances, according to Bobovnikova, Russian forces may capture a building, but the very next day, Ukrainian troops regain control over it. Previously, the enemy did not use equipment in this direction; however, on the northern outskirts of Toretsk, in the village of Nelipivka, the Russian Federation has begun deploying armored vehicles, including armored personnel carriers, buggies, and motorcycles. Additionally, similar conditions are reported near Chasiv Yar, where Russia has intensified the use of equipment despite the challenging urban environment complicating maneuverability. Furthermore, Bobovnikova stated that recently a Russian T-90M
Proryv tank, one of the newest models of Russian armored vehicles, was destroyed in this area. It is worth noting that the Russian army loses an average of 500 soldiers in Toretsk during a week of urban combat.
