Ukrainian defenders continue to resolutely resist the enemy's attempts to advance deeper into our territory, effectively inflicting fire damage and exhausting them along the entire front line. Since the beginning of the day, there have been 124 combat encounters. This information is reported in the summary from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Sunday, January 12.
Russian invaders conducted 28 airstrikes, using 36 guided aerial bombs (GABs), and two missile strikes involving two missiles. Additionally, the Russians deployed 985 kamikaze drones and carried out approximately five thousand shelling attacks on our troops' positions and populated areas.
In the
Kharkiv direction, our forces repelled four enemy attacks in the areas of the settlements of Volchansk and Kazachya Lopan. One combat encounter is still ongoing. The enemy attacked with multiple rocket launchers (MRLs).
In the
Kupiansk direction, the enemy conducted assaults on our troops' positions eight times in the areas of Petropavlivka and Pyschane. Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled six attacks, with two combat encounters still ongoing.
In the
Lyman direction, since the beginning of the day, Russian invaders have attacked Ukrainian positions 11 times near the settlements of Kopanky, Sheikivka, Pervomaiske, Makeivka, Terny, and Zarechne. One combat encounter is still in progress.
In the
Kramatorsk direction, 14 combat engagements were recorded near Chasiv Yar and Stupochki, all of which have now concluded.
In the
Toretsk direction, the Russians attacked defense positions 11 times. The main offensive efforts of the occupiers were concentrated near the settlements of Toretsk, Belya Gora, and Shcherbynivka. Currently, one combat encounter is ongoing.
Since the start of the day in the Pokrovsk direction, the Russians have attempted to breach our defenses 50 times near the settlements of Yelyzavetivka, Lisovka, Zelene, Promin, Novy Trud, Pokrovsk, Udachne, Kotlyne, Novovasylivka, Serebryane, Petropavlivka, Novoandriivka, and Dachne. Six combat encounters are still taking place.
In Myrnohrad and Pokrovsk, the enemy dropped guided aerial bombs. The enemy is sustaining significant losses—today, in this direction, 376 occupiers were neutralized, 184 of whom are irretrievable. Four units of automotive equipment were also destroyed, and two enemy artillery pieces were damaged.
In the
Novopavlivsk direction, the enemy attacked our positions nine times near the settlements of Konstantynopil, Neskuchne, Vremivka, and Rovnopil. Three combat encounters are ongoing. The enemy actively employed aviation, with airstrikes hitting Novopil, Malynivka, Konstantynopil, Komar, and Velika Novosilka.
In the
Seversk, Orekhov, Huliaipole, and Dnipro directions, the enemy did not conduct any active operations since the start of the day.
In the operational zone in
Kharkiv, Ukrainian Defense Forces units repelled 17 attacks from Russian invaders throughout the day. The enemy carried out over 400 shelling attacks, conducted 10 airstrikes using 11 GABs.
In other directions, the situation has not undergone significant changes.
The General Staff noted the warriors of the 118th Separate Mechanized Brigade, the 79th Border Detachment, the 68th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade named after Oleksa Dovbush, the 37th Separate Marine Brigade, and the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after King Daniel, who have inflicted substantial losses on the enemy in personnel and equipment.
Recall that recently, the Defense Forces
struck at the command post of the 810th Separate Marine Brigade of the Russian Armed Forces near the settlement of Belya in the Kursk region.
It is also worth mentioning that the Russians lost another 1,750 soldiers in Ukraine over the past day. The total combat losses of Russian troops in Ukraine from February 24, 2022, to January 12, 2025, amount to approximately 808,250 individuals.
