The laboratory technician at Lviv School No. 30 has been dismissed following a high-profile scandal. Just before the New Year, a video surfaced online showing a school employee making rude remarks towards children, accompanied by insults and wishes for them to "go to the front and die there." The physics teacher who witnessed the incident but took no action, as well as the school principal, received reprimands. Information about the incident was made public on the official page of the educational ombudsman on Facebook.
"Following the review of the complaint, the education department reported that a commission was established to investigate the circumstances of this case. The commission found that the events depicted in the video occurred on November 21, 2024, during a physics lesson. Furthermore, the commission confirmed that the technician shouted and spoke inappropriately towards the children, while the teacher failed to take any action to stop him from making such statements, thus not protecting the students from humiliation during the educational process," the statement reads.
The education department emphasized that such behavior by employees violates Ukrainian legislation, including the laws on "Education," "General Secondary Education," "Child Protection," as well as the terms of the principal's fixed-term employment contract and the job descriptions of the physics teacher and the laboratory technician.
For the violations committed, the technician was held accountable and received a reprimand on December 2, 2024. Later, on December 27, 2024, he was dismissed by mutual agreement. Additionally, as a result of the education department's commission's work, the school principal also received a reprimand for failing to properly fulfill his duties.
The police reported that an administrative protocol was drawn up against the technician under Article 173 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses, which provides for penalties for minor hooliganism. The case materials have been sent to court for consideration and a decision.
As a reminder, the individual detained in the attempted murder case of Lяшко organized a drug business in Kyiv region. Law enforcement exposed an organized drug trade run by a 36-year-old resident of Kyiv. As a result of the searches, over 120 grams of amphetamine and laboratory equipment were seized.
