A draft law will be registered in the defense committee of the Verkhovna Rada, proposing changes regarding the passing of the military medical commission (VLC) for individuals with limited fitness. This was
reported by Deputy Head of the President's Office Iryna Vereshchuk on Telegram on Wednesday, January 29. According to her, the draft law addresses two key points:
- the deadline for mandatory passing of the VLC should be extended by another four months, thus moving the final deadline to early June;
- the obligation to undergo the VLC does not apply to individuals with limited fitness under the age of 25.
"I thank the chairman of the defense committee Oleksandr Zavytnevych for his constructiveness and promptness. I urge the members of parliament to support this draft law," Vereshchuk wrote. Recall that the deadline for men with limited fitness status to undergo a repeat VLC is set to expire on February 5. More than one million men classified as limited fitness
have yet to undergo their repeat medical examination, and it is practically impossible to do so by February 5 due to the overwhelming queues at the TCK.
