The customs officials thwarted the illegal import of a 1976 Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith II, a classic car from the elite Silver Shadow series, into Ukraine. This was
reported by the Kyiv customs on Wednesday, January 29. It is noted that the vehicle was attempted to be imported using a forged certificate of compliance with environmental standards. Its owner in Ukraine turned out to be a resident of the Lviv region. During customs clearance, officials expressed doubts about the authenticity of the compliance certificate, which claimed that the vehicle supposedly met the Euro-2 environmental standard—the minimum requirement for the legal import of vehicles into Ukraine. Further investigation confirmed that the certificate was fake. The Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise of the Ministry of Justice confirmed that the Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith II does not meet Euro-2 standards. According to estimates, the average value of similar vehicles is around 1.2 million hryvnias. Regarding possible offenses under Articles 201-4 and 358 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, on January 2, customs transferred the relevant materials to the territorial office of the Bureau of Economic Security in the Kyiv region. The Solomiansky District Court of Kyiv has decided to seize the vehicle. The investigation is ongoing.
