In Poland, the third group of volunteers for the Ukrainian Legion has signed contracts with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This was reported by Ukrinform on Saturday, March 1.

It was noted that this includes several dozen Ukrainians residing in the USA, Canada, Estonia, Norway, and Germany.

As stated by Oleg Kuts, the Consul General of Ukraine in Lublin, the signing of contracts by the third group of Ukrainians is evidence that "the project is functioning, shows stability, and there is significant interest in it."

"We are keen for the volunteers to complete three stages of training. After this, we will be able to present the project to our foreign partners and expand it to other countries. This will expedite the process, as geography and logistics also take time," the consul general explained.

Kuts highlighted that volunteers from the first group, who signed contracts with the Armed Forces of Ukraine last November, are currently in the second phase of training, where they are being instructed in their chosen specialty. The entire training process from the signing of the contract to reaching the front line lasts several months.

The consul general also mentioned that to date, over 1,500 applications have been submitted to join the Ukrainian Legion.

Recall that the first unit of the Ukrainian Legion being formed in Poland has already departed for Ukraine, where the servicemen will continue their training.

It was also reported that women have joined the Ukrainian Legion for the first time.
