In the city of Bila Tserkva, Kyiv region, a man damaged the state flag of Ukraine on the grounds of the Spaso-Preobrazhensky Cathedral by throwing it on the ground. Officers from the Bila Tserkva police department are conducting an investigation to ascertain all the circumstances of the incident and are searching for potential witnesses and individuals involved in the crime.

"During the monitoring of the internet, information about the desecration of a state symbol near one of the religious buildings was discovered. The law enforcement agencies of the Bila Tserkva police are establishing all the circumstances, particularly the identity of the person involved in the criminal act and possible witnesses to the event," the statement said.

As part of the pre-trial investigation, under the procedural supervision of the Bila Tserkva District Prosecutor's Office, a case has been initiated under Article 338 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (desecration of a state symbol).
