Zelensky's team responded to Kellogg's comments regarding the elections in Ukraine.

Ukraine anticipates a more in-depth approach and genuine collaboration from its partners regarding the strategy for long-term peace.

Dmitry Litvin, an advisor to President Volodymyr Zelensky, stated that a clear joint plan between Ukraine and the United States is essential to end the war, as elections and ceasefires will not deter Russian leader Vladimir Putin. Litvin made this remark in response to a request from Reuters.   He commented on the statement made by Donald Trump's special envoy, Keith Kellogg, regarding the need for elections in Ukraine.   According to Litvin, Russia continues to ramp up missile production, circumvent sanctions, and strengthen its cooperation with North Korea, indicating its aggressive intentions.   He emphasized that Ukraine expects a more in-depth approach and genuine collaboration from its partners regarding a long-term peace strategy.   It is worth noting that the United States wants Ukraine to hold presidential and parliamentary elections, possibly by the end of 2025, especially if Kyiv can negotiate a ceasefire with the Russian Federation in the coming months.   Earlier, Zelensky stated that Ukraine will hold fair elections, but only after a just conclusion to the war with Russia.   Additionally, the overwhelming majority of Ukrainians are against presidential elections during the war. Surveys indicate that citizens believe Volodymyr Zelensky should remain in the presidency until the end of martial law.
