Russian propaganda is spreading a fake video allegedly from the United24 Media platform, claiming that eight mansions owned by high-ranking Ukrainian military officials were damaged during the wildfires in California. This was reported by the CPD on Sunday, January 12.
The video suggests that these homes were supposedly purchased by "members of Zaluzhny's team" between April 2022 and February 2024.
"After verifying the information with United24 Media, the Center stated that the platform did not create or distribute this video material," the report noted.
They added that the aim of this falsehood is to discredit the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Previously, the Center for Counteracting Disinformation debunked another Russian fake regarding Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, claiming that he purchased a villa on the "Billionaires' Island."
Additionally, Russians have widely circulated a fake about allegedly poisoned water for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces refuted this Russian fabrication.
