The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andriy Sibiga, commented on the nighttime massive shelling of Ukraine by Russia on Christmas Eve, December 25, and hinted at Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban's proposal regarding a possible "Christmas truce."
"Another massive strike by Russia on Ukraine's energy infrastructure. This Christmas terror is Putin's response to those who spoke of the illusory 'Christmas truce,'" he wrote on Twitter (X).
Sibiga also noted that one of the Russian missiles flew through the airspace of Moldova and Romania, highlighting the threats that Russia poses not only to Ukraine.
Earlier, Orban stated that his peace plan includes a temporary ceasefire in Ukraine for several days so that "thousands of young lives are not lost on the battlefield at Christmas." According to him, this is not a unique case in European history, as "similar situations have occurred during major wars."
It is worth noting that Mykhailo Podolyak explained why Orban's proposal for a "Christmas truce" is a fake. Mykhailo Podolyak refuted the suggestion of a "Christmas truce," emphasizing that it is part of Russia's information operation aimed at manipulating public opinion.
