On Christmas Day, December 25, Russia launched over 70 missiles and 100 drones against Ukraine. More than 50 missiles and a significant number of drones were intercepted by Ukrainian forces. This was reported by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Telegram.
"Today, Putin deliberately chose Christmas for the attack. What could be more inhumane? Over 70 missiles, including ballistic ones, and more than a hundred attack drones. The targets are our energy infrastructure. They continue to fight for a blackout in Ukraine," the president wrote.
According to preliminary data, Ukrainian defenders managed to shoot down more than 50 missiles and a significant portion of the enemy drones that were launched the night before.
The head of state noted that in some regions, there were hits resulting in power outages. Energy workers are actively working to restore electricity supply.
"Thank you to everyone who is currently working for the country, who is on combat duty, who protects our sky. We will restore as much as possible. Russian evil will not break Ukraine and will not distort Christmas," Zelensky added.
