Norway will finance the procurement of weapons for Ukrainian F-16 fighter jets. This was
announced by Defense Minister Rustem Umerov after talks with his Norwegian counterpart Bjørn Arild Gram. Umerov expressed gratitude for his leadership in allocating a new aid package of 500 million euros, as well as the decision to transfer F-16 aircraft to Ukraine within this year. The meeting also covered steps to strengthen air defense. "Norway is ready to co-finance the enhancement of Ukraine's air defense and has allocated 118.8 million USD for the procurement of weapon systems and spare parts for Ukrainian F-16s under the U.S. initiative 'Jumpstart'," Umerov stated. Additionally, the ministers discussed collaboration on joint procurement and attracting investments into the Ukrainian defense industry. Earlier, it was reported that Norway will provide Ukraine with a new
aid package worth 500 million euros. More than half of this amount is military assistance. Norway, in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), has also allocated
financial support of 105 million dollars for Ukraine to restore its energy infrastructure and create backup capacities.
