On the night of March 2, Russian forces launched an attack on Ukraine using 79 Shahed-type strike drones and various types of imitation drones. The air defense forces destroyed 63 UAVs. This was reported by the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
As of 08:30, the confirmation of 63 downed Shahed-type strike drones and other types of UAVs has been recorded in Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Kyiv, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia, Khmelnytskyi, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions.
An additional 16 enemy imitation drones were lost due to location issues, with no negative consequences.
As a result of the Russian attack, Kharkiv, Sumy, Khmelnytskyi, and Zaporizhzhia were affected.
Recall that on the evening of March 1, Russian forces struck a residential high-rise building in Zaporizhzhia, resulting in a fire. An enemy "Shahed" destroyed the roof of the residential building.
