A large-scale drone assault using "Shahed" drones was thwarted, with 78 unmanned aerial vehicles neutralized across 12 regions in Ukraine.

On the night of January 12 to 13, 2025, Russian forces launched a massive attack using 110 Shahed-type strike drones and other mimic drones from Russian territory. The enemy's aircraft were launched from the directions of Millerovo, Orel, Bryansk, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk. This was reported by the Ukrainian Air Force.

The airspace of Ukraine was defended by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare (EW) units, mobile fire groups of the Air Forces, and the Defense Forces of Ukraine. According to confirmed data as of 09:00, 78 strike drones were destroyed across 12 regions of Ukraine, including: Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi, and Donetsk regions.

Due to the debris from the downed drones, damage to buildings was recorded in Sumy, Kyiv, Zhytomyr, and Zaporizhzhia regions. Enterprises, private and state institutions were affected, private homes were partially destroyed, and vehicles were damaged. Preliminary information indicates that there are no casualties or injuries.
