Results from February 20: Enhanced deal and billions allocated for FPV.

The U.S. has "enhanced" the fossil fuel agreement; Ukraine is set to spend billions on FPV drones. Korrespondent.net highlights the key events from yesterday.

US "improves" Ukraine resource agreement - media   The administration of US President Donald Trump has provided Ukraine with an "improved" draft agreement regarding mineral resources, Axios reported. The outlet claims that several of Zelensky's aides urged him to sign the updated proposal to avoid further clashes with Trump and to justify continued US support for Ukraine. Zelensky himself stated in a video address that he instructed his team to work "quickly and very thoughtfully" on the agreements with the US. He emphasized that "economy and security must always go hand in hand, and the details of the agreements matter: the better the details are defined, the greater the outcome."   Zelensky summarizes his conversation with Kellogg   Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky commented on his meeting with US Special Representative for Ukraine and Russia, Keith Kellogg, stating that it was a "good conversation" and added that they discussed "many details." Zelensky stressed that Ukraine is ready for a strong, truly beneficial agreement with the US president regarding investments and security.   Ukraine to spend tens of billions on FPV drones   In 2025, the Ukrainian military will receive FPV drones worth 44 billion hryvnias, the Ministry of Defense reported. They noted that while last year the main financial resources were directed towards the purchase of long-range deepstrike systems, this year more than 44 billion UAH is planned for the acquisition of FPV drones, including fiber-optic models.   Russia attacked gas infrastructure - Ministry of Energy   On the night of February 20, Russian aggressors carried out another attack on Ukraine's gas infrastructure, reported Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko. The damage affected, among other things, production facilities. As soon as the security situation allowed, specialists began assessing the damage and conducting restoration work.   US opposes mentioning Russian aggression in G7 statement and did not sign UN resolution   The US opposes the wording "Russian aggression" in the G7 statement regarding the third year of full-scale invasion, which could potentially undermine the traditional demonstration of unity among Western allies, FT reports.   Additionally, the US will not co-sponsor the UN General Assembly resolution supporting Ukraine for the first time, according to Reuters. The document reaffirms Ukraine's territorial integrity and condemns Russian aggression.   Trump estimates casualties for Ukraine and Russia in the war   US President Donald Trump estimates Russian casualties in the war with Ukraine at 900,000 military personnel, while he claims Ukraine has lost around 700,000. He made this statement during a briefing in Miami.   Kremlin evaluates the idea of peacekeepers in Ukraine   In Moscow, there are concerns about reports of possible deployment of NATO peacekeepers to Ukraine, said Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov. He noted that "this takes on a completely different significance" from a security perspective for Russia and cannot be acceptable.   UN and EU consider Zelensky a legitimate president   UN Secretary-General spokesperson Stefan Dujarric stated that the United Nations does not consider Volodymyr Zelensky an illegitimate president of Ukraine. A similar statement was made by European Commission spokesman Stefan de Keersmaeker: "We have a fairly simple and clear position on this matter. President Zelensky was legitimately elected in free, fair, and democratic elections." He emphasized that "Ukraine is a democracy, while Putin's Russia is not."   Institute working for the military-industrial complex burned down in Moscow   In Moscow, on the night of February 20, the building of the Institute of Precision Mechanics and Computer Technology named after Lebedev burned down. It was involved in the production of computing technology used in missile defense systems, space monitoring, and mobile communication tracking. The reasons for the fire have not been disclosed.
