A teacher will face trial in Sumy for pursuing a minor student.

In Sumy, a local university instructor has been suspected of sexual assault. This was reported by the regional police press service on Wednesday, January 29.   According to the investigation, a 51-year-old man sent pornographic materials to a minor student and attempted to coerce her into sexual acts.   In October 2021, the university lecturer was alone with the student in one of the classrooms, where he committed sexual acts against her will and tried to entice her into sexual activity.   Law enforcement officials noted that the inappropriate behavior of the university employee was "systematic."   The instructor consistently gave the girl excessive attention, including asking obscene questions, offering to take her home, attempting to kiss her, and so on. Additionally, he sent her pornographic materials via messaging apps.   The lecturer has been charged with sexual assault and the distribution of pornographic video content. He faces up to 10 years in prison.   The decision regarding the suspension of the lecturer from his position is still pending.   It is worth noting that a former student of the Kyiv National University of Theatre, Cinema and Television named after Ivan Karpenko-Kary accused the lecturer and artistic director of the Young Theatre, Andriy Bilous, of sexual advances.   Following the public disclosure, the lecturer was temporarily suspended from work during the investigation of the incident.   As reported, British fantasy writer Niel Gaiman has been accused of sexual assault by eight women.   The Mayor of Edinburgh resigned after allegations of advances towards refugees
