A NABU detective fled Ukraine to Romania, crossing the border illegally, according to sources.

Detective Timur Arshavin of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau has fled from Ukraine to Romania. In October 2024, he crossed the border outside official checkpoints and has not returned since.

This information is being reported by Telegram channels and media outlets citing their own sources. Additionally, former Romanian border guards are discussing numerous escapees from Ukraine, including those from law enforcement agencies, in Facebook groups.

Arshavin is mentioned in one of these communities. This information has also been corroborated through social networks and declarations available to NABU detectives.

Currently, the leadership of NABU has not commented on this situation, which could be perceived as a degradation of the anti-corruption agency or as an act of treason.
