The operation of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has become a true example of effective resistance against North Korean military personnel fighting on the side of Russia. At the onset of the North Korean troops' offensive on Ukrainian positions in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation, Ukrainian special forces from the 8th SSO regiment, supported by infantry, began to hold back the enemy's advance. This is reported by the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In total, for more than eight hours, SSO fighters repelled attacks, actively utilizing firearms, grenade launchers, and working as snipers to suppress enemy forces. Through their precise strikes, Ukrainian troops eliminated 21 North Korean soldiers and wounded another 40.

Despite the significant losses inflicted on the enemy, by the ninth hour of the battle, the ammunition supply for the SSO group was nearly depleted, prompting the command to make the decision to exfiltrate—swiftly and safely extracting the fighters from the battlefield. Thanks to well-organized tactics, Ukrainian special forces successfully vacated their positions using two Humvees.

It is worth noting that the war in Ukraine should not be repeated in 2-4 years, according to the U.S. Secretary of State. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that the Trump administration will make every effort to bring the war in Ukraine to an end.
