In Mykolaiv, all fires caused by the attack of Russian strike drones, which the occupiers launched late in the evening on January 21, have been extinguished. The State Emergency Service of Ukraine published photos of the aftermath of the shelling.
It is reported that seven explosions were heard in the city, causing destruction and fires in two districts of Mykolaiv.
In particular, the attic floor of a multi-apartment building was partially destroyed. A fire in an apartment on the sixth floor, covering an area of 100 square meters, was extinguished. 200 people were evacuated from the building, and all have since returned to their homes.
The shockwave damaged window glazing in four multi-apartment buildings and one private residential house, as well as the door of a family clinic. Doors and windows were also damaged in a shuttle cooperative. There is also damage to a private residential house, an administrative building, and one vehicle was destroyed.
In addition, firefighters extinguished a fire in reeds covering an area of 1,000 square meters. Fires in garbage and dry grass over an area of 100 square meters were also extinguished.
Among the victims of the attack is a 74-year-old woman who was hospitalized, and a man with an acute stress reaction. He received first aid but declined hospitalization.
A point for emergency psychological assistance has been set up in the city, where psychologists from the State Emergency Service and police are working.
A total of 45 rescuers and 11 units of emergency service equipment were involved in the response efforts. Volunteers from the Ukrainian Red Cross Rapid Response Team, ambulance crews, and World Central Kitchen volunteers also assisted the citizens.
