PFU in certain cases provides citizens with an advance pension payment - according to the law, in specific circumstances, the state is required to make a payment for a full six months in advance.
This is stipulated in Article 51 of the Law of Ukraine "On Mandatory State Pension Insurance".
Citizens who are moving abroad for permanent residence are entitled to receive their pension six months in advance.
In such cases, the pension payment begins from the month following the month of deregistration from residence in Ukraine. The funds are transferred by the Pension Fund authorities to the applicant's bank account.
The law states: "In the event that a pensioner moves abroad for permanent residence, the pension assigned in Ukraine is paid six months in advance prior to departure upon the pensioner's application, starting from the month following the month of deregistration from the place of permanent residence."
It is important to note that this payment is made regardless of the presence of international agreements ratified by Ukraine. To receive the pension in advance, citizens planning to relocate abroad must contact the local Pension Fund office.
Required documents:
- a passport for traveling abroad with a mark indicating permanent residence (or a foreign passport/identity document for stateless persons);
- a certificate of deregistration from residence in Ukraine.
After submitting the application and necessary documents, the pensioner will receive the payment to their bank account, which will help cover financial needs initially while abroad.
