Some clients of the state bank PrivatBank face challenges in receiving their pensions even after their accounts have been unblocked.
A complaint from a pensioner, who endured a lengthy struggle for his payments, was published on the "Minfin" portal.
According to the client's account at "PrivatBank", the issue began on October 14, 2024, when the 86-year-old pensioner's card was blocked without any explanations or notifications. After numerous appeals to "PrivatBank" and the enforcement service, which shifted the blame onto each other, the client was forced to contact law enforcement.
The freeze on the "PrivatBank" account was lifted on December 17, 2024, but even after that, the pension was not disbursed. Employees of "PrivatBank" cited technical issues, compelled the client to reissue the card, and attempts to withdraw money at the counter proved futile. Additionally, the pensioner often had to leave the branch due to air raid alerts.
In despair, the "PrivatBank" client decided to terminate his relationship with the bank, but transferring the pension payments to another account was also unsuccessful.
A representative of the pensioner noted that the account statement indicated that the Pension Fund had transferred the funds, but the account balance showed a "credit limit". This raised suspicions that the pension was being credited to a credit card, and the "PrivatBank" client may have been spending funds from the credit limit.
As the situation remains unresolved, the pensioner is left without access to pension funds guaranteed by the Constitution of Ukraine.
