Experts believe that the end of the war in Ukraine should not be expected in 2024, which means that hostilities will continue into 2025.

Military analysts also consider the possibility of a new counteroffensive by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, along with political events that could impact the war in Ukraine.

Discussions about potential negotiations with Russia are also on the table.

What will the war in Ukraine look like in 2025, and when will it come to an end?

Experts from "The Times" predict that Ukraine may initiate a large-scale counteroffensive in 2025, equipped with new technology from its partners and units that are currently being formed.

Alexander Musienko, the head of the Center for Military Legal Studies, also spoke about the Ukrainian counteroffensive.

фронт, война

According to him, a Ukrainian counteroffensive in 2025 is possible if sufficient military equipment from partners is received and permission is granted for strikes deep into Russia.

However, without this, the fighting on the front will likely devolve into a positional war with the risk of a freeze in hostilities.

The analyst suggested another scenario for the counteroffensive—an attempt to improve the tactical position of Ukrainian forces.

"It would end with our troops advancing several kilometers into enemy territory along multiple fronts. We could penetrate deep by tens of kilometers and liberate territories, but at the same time, the risks are very high: what if we don't succeed?" the expert questions.
