Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree implementing the decision of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) regarding sanctions. The head of the Ukrainian state
noted this on Sunday, January 19.
According to this decree, propagandists working for Russia, as well as individuals who have sided with the enemy or assist Russia in continuing the war, are being blocked.
"I just signed a decree that puts into effect the NSDC's decision on sanctions. We are blocking propagandists working for Russia, those who have switched to the enemy's side, and those who help Russia continue the war," Zelensky emphasized.
The President also assured that the authorities would strip state awards, particularly the title of Hero of Ukraine, which "should be awarded only to those who truly dedicate their lives to Ukraine."
Zelensky added that new sanction measures are planned in the near future.
According to the
decree, Svetlana Kryukova and Nestor Shufrych, as well as Gorokhov, Baisarov, Murayev, and others, are among those subjected to the new sanctions.
Meanwhile, Yuriy Boyko was stripped of the title of Hero of Ukraine.
It should be noted that U.S. authorities announced
new extensive sanctions against Russia's oil sector. The new restrictions affect more than 400 individuals and organizations in Russia's energy sector that directly or indirectly finance the Kremlin's military machine.
