Ukraine must do everything possible to end the war through diplomatic means by 2025. This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelensky in an interview with Ukrainian Radio, released on Saturday, November 16.
"From our side, we must do everything to ensure that this war ends next year. Ends through diplomacy. And I believe this is very important," he declared.
At the same time, the head of state emphasized that Ukraine must maintain a strong position in potential negotiations with Russia and should not face the aggressor alone.
"What kind of negotiations can happen with a murderer? If we are talking directly with Putin, simply with a murderer, and we are in the conditions we are now, without some important elements, then this puts Ukraine in a losing position from the start of the negotiations," he said, adding that "in a weak situation, there is nothing to do in these negotiations."
Zelensky stressed the importance of the position of the newly elected U.S. President Donald Trump regarding Ukraine, noting that the United States is currently on Ukraine's side.
In his opinion, the U.S. should maintain its support position, recognizing Ukraine as a victim and Russia as the aggressor and violator of international law. This should be one of the points at the beginning of negotiations on any platform.
It is worth noting that Volodymyr Zelensky believes that the war will end sooner under the administration of the elected U.S. President Donald Trump.
The day before, Donald Trump stated that his administration will focus on the war that Russia is waging against Ukraine. It must stop.
