The Ukrainian side is preparing for the meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group in the Ramstein format next week. The discussion will focus on enhancing air defense, President Volodymyr Zelensky stated in a video address on Saturday, January 4. "We are already preparing for the meeting in Ramstein: it is scheduled for this week (next week - ed.). Dozens of partner countries are involved, including those who can boost our capabilities not only in missile defense but also against guided bombs and Russian aviation. We will talk to them about this and will work to persuade them," he said. Zelensky emphasized that "life needs protection here and now in Ukraine, and air defense systems must work for this purpose." He expressed gratitude to all partners who are assisting our country in this matter. Let us remind you that the Ukraine Defense Contact Group in the Ramstein format will meet on January 9 at the namesake airbase in Germany. The Pentagon also announced when the U.S. Secretary of Defense will arrive at Ramstein Air Base.
