Zelensky: A battalion of North Korean soldiers and Russian paratroopers has been eliminated in the Kursk region.

In just two days and in a single location in the Kursk region, Russia has lost a battalion of North Korean soldiers and its own paratroopers. This was stated by President Vladimir Zelensky in a video address on Saturday, January 4.   He reported that he received a briefing from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Alexander Syrsky, regarding the situation in the Kursk region.   "In particular, in the battles today and yesterday in the vicinity of just one village, Makhnovka, in the Kursk region, the Russian army lost a battalion of infantry consisting of North Korean soldiers and Russian paratroopers. And this is significant," the president declared.   He also acknowledged the military personnel responsible for eliminating the occupiers.   "Overall, I want to highlight the professional and effective actions of our warriors from the Special Operations Forces and the 80th Separate Air Assault Brigade," Zelensky added.   Earlier, the president of Ukraine discussed the unexpected effect of the Kursk operation by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This pertains to the reaction from Global South countries.   It was also reported that Ukrainian forces took control of a village in the Kursk region, which had been held by Russian and North Korean troops.
