Зеленский и Байден обсудили важные вопросы в ходе телефонного разговора.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced a phone conversation with U.S. President Joe Biden. This was reported on Friday, January 10, on his Telegram channel by the Ukrainian leader.     He mentioned that he expressed gratitude to Biden for the support provided to Ukraine during the war initiated by Russia.   The two leaders also discussed the details of a new U.S. sanctions package targeting Russian energy.   "It is very important that America has now struck against Russia's shadow tanker fleet and companies like Gazpromneft and Surgutneftegaz, which accumulate funds personally for Putin. He must feel the cost of his war, losing from his own pockets," Zelensky stated.   Zelensky and Biden also talked about the situation on the battlefield, particularly regarding the strengthening of Ukraine's air defense. Zelensky also thanked the U.S. for the provided Patriot systems, which "have shown their strength in the hands of Ukrainians."   "President Biden said: preserving and protecting Ukraine's independence is critical for all of Europe and the democratic world. We will definitely endure and achieve lasting peace for our people and country," Zelensky concluded.   The Ukrainian side presented a military strategy for 2025 during the 25th meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group at the Ramstein Air Base in Germany.
