A Lviv businessman will be prosecuted for supplying poor-quality military clothing to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, amounting to over 1 billion UAH, as uncovered by the materials from the State Bureau of Investigations (DBR).
Details were provided by the DBR.
In collaboration with the State Audit Office of Ukraine, DBR employees completed the investigation of the Lviv entrepreneur and his accomplices, who organized the supply of substandard clothing for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. An indictment has already been submitted to the court.
The entrepreneur, who was the main organizer of the scheme, involved his son and other individuals in the deal. His companies entered into contracts with the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine in 2023 for the supply of military clothing worth over 1.8 billion UAH. Under these agreements, products worth nearly 1.2 billion UAH were delivered to the Ministry of Defense.
However, as a result of expert assessments, the supplied clothing did not meet the technical requirements of the contracts, lacked proper quality, and could not be used for its intended purpose. Consequently, the state incurred losses exceeding 1 billion 167 million UAH.
This deal resulted in damage to the state budget amounting to over 193 million UAH and posed a threat to the lives of Ukrainian soldiers.
