Employees of the Security Service of Ukraine neutralized an active sabotage group of Russian special services operating in the Rivne region.

As reported by the SBU, agents discovered an improvised explosive device (IED) on a railway track, which was currently being approached by a freight train of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

The SBU operatives timely halted the train at a safe distance and secured the scene, preventing serious consequences and casualties. After the damage to the tracks was addressed, train operations were restored.

During the course of operational-search activities, two local residents aged 30 and 32 were detained; they had been recruited by the enemy through "quick earning" channels on Telegram. Following instructions from Russian special services, they manufactured an explosive device using plastic explosive obtained from a stash and placed it under the rails. When the military train approached, the perpetrators remotely detonated the explosive in hopes of disrupting railway logistics for defense cargo supplies.

During the search, elements of the IED and mobile phones containing evidence of their explosive activities in favor of Russia were seized from the detainees. The hostile agents have been informed of suspicion under Article 113 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (sabotage in a state of martial law).

The detainees are currently in custody, and the investigation continues to establish all details of their crime. The perpetrators face life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
