The aviation sector of Ukraine is prepared to resume operations at 95%, but the key condition for this remains the guarantee of passenger safety. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction and Head of the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development, Oleksiy Kuleba, during the "Karpyak on Public" project.
According to Kuleba, after a corresponding decision is made, it will take about 45-50 days to prepare for the launch of flights at the airports in Lviv or Boryspil. However, the decisive factor for restoring air communication is ensuring the safety of citizens.
"The architecture of security requires very serious air defense measures, which are currently deployed in the country as intended. Therefore, when we have sufficient air defense for a particular airport, we can discuss it. Unfortunately, at this time, it is not feasible," the Minister of Community and Territorial Development stated.
In response to a question about the possibility of opening air flights in 2025, the minister emphasized that this directly depends on the situation at the front.
"Of course, we can hope. But to be realistic, we can only talk about this with an eye on the front. Like all other issues concerning the development of our country - the front is the priority, and only after that can we consider any other development," Kuleba added.
