The Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine, Oksana Zholnovich, announced that the first contributions under the new accumulation pension system may begin in the country starting in 2026. She shared this information during a press conference in Kyiv, as reported by Interfax-Ukraine.
"The draft law on the accumulation pension system has been developed by the Cabinet of Ministers, and we have already conducted the first round of coordination with all central executive authorities. We are currently addressing the concerns that were raised and aligning the figures with the Ministry of Finance," she stated.
According to the minister, the draft law will be submitted for consideration to the Verkhovna Rada in 2025, which will enable the technical preparation for implementing this system.
"This year, we are drafting legislation, developing an IT system, and working on a concept for a cost-effective and efficient state accumulation fund, and, God willing, we can begin the first contributions in 2026," she added.
We remind you that in February, Ukraine is introducing new electricity tariffs: how much consumers will have to pay. The light tariff will apply to consumption up to 2000 kWh per month, and the reduced price will last until April 30, 2025.
