In Ukraine, young individuals who turn 17 are required to register for military service by visiting the territorial centers for recruitment and social support (TCK and SP). Dmitry Sukhoi, the deputy head of the conscription department at the Kirovohrad regional TCK and SP, clarified that this procedure is not related to mobilization, as reported by Suspilne.
As Dmitry Sukhoi specified, the registration of 17-year-olds takes place annually from January to March.
"Additionally, every year, lists of Ukrainian citizens subject to military registration must be submitted to the local (city) TCK and SP by local government bodies, enterprises, institutions, organizations, and educational establishments, regardless of their subordination and ownership," noted Dmitry Sukhoi.
The aim of this initiative is to assess readiness for military service, as well as to determine the level of education, professional skills, physical fitness, and personal qualities of the young men.
It is important to highlight that if a young man does not register before turning 18, he faces administrative penalties, with fines ranging from 17,000 to 25,500 hryvnias.
We remind you that Ukraine shot down 41 "Shahed" out of 64 drones during a nighttime attack by the Russian army. On the night of January 8, 2025, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with 64 drones, of which 41 were destroyed.
