Border guards from the Podolsk unit apprehended three residents of Kyiv who attempted to illegally enter the unrecognized Transnistria.
The incident was reported by the Southern Regional Department of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
In an effort to avoid detection, they donned camouflage uniforms, tactical gloves, and boots, hoping this would help them blend into the surroundings.
Escape Attempt and Arrest
The violators were discovered using a drone. When the border guards approached, the men began to flee, disregarding commands to stop. To detain them, the servicemen were forced to fire several warning shots into the air.
It turned out that the idea of using camouflage gear was suggested by the organizer of their escape. He convinced the men that this would make them less noticeable. For his “consultations” and route instructions, the schemer received $4,000 from each, which were transferred to his cryptocurrency wallet.
Legal Consequences
Protocols have been drawn up against the Kyiv residents under two administrative articles: attempted illegal border crossing and willful disobedience to representatives of the State Border Guard Service. The sanctions for these violations include fines ranging from 1,700 to 5,100 hryvnias or administrative detention for a period of 10 to 15 days.
The case materials have already been submitted to the court, which will determine the further fate of the detainees.
