In Ukraine, over 3,500 patients are on the transplant waiting list as of early 2025, with the highest number awaiting kidney transplants. This was reported by the Ministry of Health on Friday, January 10. "As of early 2025, there are 3,578 patients listed in the national waiting letter of the Unified State Information System for Transplantation," the report states. It is noted that 2,276 people are awaiting kidney transplants, 615 are waiting for heart transplants, and 586 for liver transplants. Last year, Ukraine performed 337 kidney transplants. An additional 107 patients received new livers, and 71 received hearts. The most organ transplants were conducted at:

- O. O. Shalimov National Scientific Center of Surgery and Transplantology (91)
- Heart Institute of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine (52)
Additionally, there was an 18% increase in hematopoietic stem cell transplants. "Even in the face of Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine, the transplantation system in Ukraine has not only endured but continues to develop. Our doctors are successfully transplanting hearts, lungs, kidneys, and livers," emphasized the Ministry of Health.
