В феврале в Украине стартуют новые тарифы на электроэнергию: сколько придется платить потребителям?

Starting from February 1, new electricity usage conditions for heating will come into effect in Ukraine. The preferential tariff will apply only up to a certain consumption volume, as indicated in the materials from "Na Pensii".

According to the new conditions, the reduction in electricity prices for this category of consumers will last until April 30, 2025. The cost of 1 kWh of electricity will be 2.64 UAH if monthly consumption does not exceed 2000 kWh. For each kWh exceeding this norm, the tariff will be 4.32 UAH/kWh.

Previously, there were similar tariffs, but the conditions changed. Earlier, if a consumer used 2300 kWh, they paid 4.32 UAH for all consumed electricity. Now, for the first 2000 kWh, the cost is 2.64 UAH, and for the remaining 300 kWh, it will be 4.32 UAH.

Tariff changes typically occur in May, with price increases expected in June or July. However, as reported by Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko, there are currently no plans to raise tariffs. He specified that the current tariffs help to balance the financial situation in the market and prevent the accumulation of debts.

Government sources also indicate that a price increase is unlikely in the near future, as it is tied to socio-economic conditions. Experts note that after the war ends, there may be a gradual reduction in subsidies for all consumers, which is connected to the implementation of new PSO rules requiring suppliers to sell electricity at fixed tariffs.

If the relevant decree is canceled, prices will be formed using a mechanism similar to the calculation of water tariffs. All components of the tariff will be coordinated with the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Public Utilities (NERC). However, such changes are expected only after the end of the war.
