In Cherkasy, a 31-year-old woman opened fire in a store, frightening the customers. The police apprehended the offender, who has been charged with hooliganism involving a weapon. This was reported by the press service of the Cherkasy region police on Sunday, January 19. The incident occurred in the evening on January 17 on Mytnytska Street in Cherkasy. One of the visitors entered a local store with a pistol and opened fire. At that time, customers and staff were present in the premises. The shots startled people, but fortunately, no one was injured. Despite the shock, the store employees and customers remained composed. They disarmed the woman and called the police. Law enforcement arrived promptly at the scene and detained the offender. The weapon was seized and sent for examination to the Cherkasy Scientific Research Expert and Criminalistic Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. The woman faces a prison sentence of three to seven years. It is worth noting that three other participants in the shooting at a hotel in the Pechersk district of Kyiv
have been charged with hooliganism.
