Ukraine and Estonia are strengthening their cooperation in the defense sector, having signed a Memorandum of Understanding on November 20. This was announced by Ukraine's Defense Minister Rustem Umerov. The document continues the security cooperation agreement signed in June 2024 by Estonia's Prime Minister Kaja Kallas and Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky. Estonia will provide Ukraine with assistance amounting to 0.25% of its GDP for the period from 2024 to 2027. The Memorandum also mentions funding for the IT coalition led by Estonia, aimed at digitizing and modernizing defense processes, as well as conducting training for Ukrainian soldiers. Ukraine will share combat knowledge gained during its defense against Russian aggression to strengthen the defense capabilities of Estonia and other partner countries.

Let us remind you that the Estonian government supported Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur's proposal to send another package of military assistance to Ukraine, which this time includes both equipment and ammunition. It was previously reported that Estonia plans to change the structure of military assistance to Ukraine, focusing on products from Estonian companies.
