At the beginning of 2025, changes in prices for essential food products were observed in Ukrainian supermarkets.

This is confirmed by data published by the "Minfin" portal.

Bread and sunflower oil have become more expensive, while chicken eggs have shown a significant decrease in price.

As of January 4, the cost of chicken eggs has declined. Thus, a dozen of "Nasedka" brand eggs of category C1 now averages 67.25 UAH, which is 11.15 UAH cheaper than the December price. "Yasensvit" eggs (pack of 10) have also become more affordable: the average price fell from 78.06 UAH in December to 76.90 UAH.

At the same time, sunflower oil is showing an upward price trend. Refined "Oleina" oil (850 ml) now averages 67 UAH, which is 1.13 UAH more than in December, up from 73.46 UAH a month ago.

The prices for wheat bread have also changed. Sliced bread (650 g) has increased by 2.50 UAH, and now the average price is 39.99 UAH. Meanwhile, the price for "Tsar Khleb" bread (600 g) has remained stable at 36.57 UAH.

Additionally, Politeka reported that with the increase in gas transportation tariffs in Ukraine, a new price surge is expected – food products could rise by 20% in the first half of 2025.
