A price revolution of sorts has occurred in the vegetable market. For instance, the price of potatoes has decreased, despite a significant increase in price over the past few weeks. Additionally, prices for cabbage and carrots have also changed. This is evidenced by data from the EastFruit project and the "Minfin" portal.

Most producers have started to simultaneously reduce the wholesale prices for potatoes. The main reason is the risk of not being able to sell products that are unsuitable for long-term storage before the frost sets in.

Thus, depending on the volume and quality, potatoes have started to be shipped in the main production regions at prices ranging from 18 to 28 hryvnias per kilogram. This is on average 10% cheaper than a week earlier.

However, despite the decrease, the price of potatoes in Ukraine is, on average, 2.3 times higher than it was at the beginning of November last year.

Prices for Cabbage and Carrots

The average price for young cabbage has slightly decreased in supermarkets, from 62.72 to 62.12 hryvnias per kilogram. At the same time, white cabbage has risen in price by more than one hryvnia, reaching 31.70 hryvnias per kilogram.

Prices for carrots are rising rapidly. In October, the average price was 21.46 hryvnias per kilogram, while at the beginning of November, it has already reached 30.56 hryvnias per kilogram.

Earlier, the information portal Znai reported, even basic products are becoming unaffordable: how prices for oil, flour, and sugar have changed.
