The head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Timur Tkachенко, proposed that foreign business trips for city officials be coordinated through the Kyiv Defense Council with the involvement of representatives from the Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police.
He emphasized that during martial law, it is crucial for such decisions to be made at a higher level. According to him, the current procedure for approving the trips of military administration employees does not involve the Defense Council. Tkachенко believes that changes in this process will enhance transparency and oversight regarding the use of resources.
He particularly highlighted that travel expenses are covered by the city budget. Therefore, in his view, each trip must be thoroughly justified and have a genuine necessity. This will allow for each case to be considered individually, which, in turn, will ensure more effective use of the Kyiv community's funds.
"I am initiating the involvement of the Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police in the review of official business trips. This approach is already being successfully implemented by military administrations in neighboring regions," Tkachенко wrote.
