January will be particularly challenging on the front due to the Trump factor, as the Russians are trying to accomplish as much as possible before the inauguration of the American president.

This was stated by political scientist and serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Kirill Sazonov, in an interview with Politeka Online.

"Because he can force everyone to sit at the negotiating table; he has the power to do so, and refusal is met with severe consequences. Therefore, they will try to push us out of here, from Kursk, at any cost in January. I see from the assaults – I don't remember such assaults since Bakhmut," said Kirill Sazonov.

According to the military, recently the occupiers have been operating in small groups, gradually infiltrating, but now we can see how they are charging across the field towards our positions in groups of 30, which indicates that the Russian Federation will do anything to push us out of Kursk in the remaining days.

"Reinforcements are all from Russia, all reserves are now heading in two directions: Donetsk region and Kursk, where they have a principled offensive towards Kurokhovo and Pokrovsk; here, they are determined to push us out at any cost. Therefore, there are daily shellings, nightly attempts to advance in small groups, daily assaults – they are working very actively.

Thus, January will be marked by the urgency to solve as many tasks as possible before Trump's inauguration. They have two key objectives: the Donetsk region, which is not fully resolved, but at least Pokrovsk, and Kursk. Both are highly uncertain," added Kirill Sazonov.
