Russia's expenses for attacks on Ukraine have been revealed.

Russia is spending vast sums of money on shelling Ukraine. These amounts exceed the annual budgets of Russian regions, reported the Center for Countering Disinformation of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine on Saturday, November 23.

According to data from open sources, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russia has spent over $18 billion on missile strikes and drone attacks on Ukrainian territory, which amounts to over 1.8 trillion rubles.

"These funds could have been allocated for regional development, the construction of schools, hospitals, and infrastructure," the Center for Countering Disinformation emphasizes.

For example, in 2024, the budget of Saint Petersburg is 1.3 trillion rubles ($13 billion), equivalent to 1.38 times the annual budget of Vladimir Putin's hometown.

The total amount spent on shelling Ukraine is more than four times the budget of the Krasnoyarsk Krai, which is 437.2 billion rubles ($4.3 billion).

Recall that on November 17, Russia launched a massive missile and drone strike on Ukraine, firing 120 missiles and 90 drones. Traditionally, the enemy's target was the energy infrastructure across the country. The Ukrainian air defense managed to shoot down most of the missiles and drones.
