The weekend of November 23-24 will bring changes in weather conditions across Ukraine, varying by region. This is reported by the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center.
In the western regions of the country, light snow is expected on Saturday, while moderate snow will fall at night in the Carpathians. Nighttime temperatures will drop to -3 to -8°C, with daytime temperatures hovering around 0°C. These weather conditions may impact road traffic, particularly in mountainous areas where difficulties due to snowfall are possible.
In the northern regions, as well as in Vinnytsia and Cherkasy regions, significant wet snow will be observed at night, which may lead to the accumulation of wet snow. During the day, precipitation will decrease to minor levels, with temperatures ranging from -3°C to +2°C.
In the rest of Ukraine, particularly in the central, southern, and eastern regions, weather conditions will be milder: rain will prevail, with heavy rain in some areas, and daytime temperatures ranging from +3 to +8°C. In the southeastern regions, temperatures may rise to +14°C.
On Sunday, November 24, the situation will stabilize; however, wet snow is still expected in the east and southeast, with possible snow accumulation and ice formation. Nighttime temperatures will range from 0 to -7°C, while during the day, they will vary from -3°C to +4°C.
During these days, icy conditions will be present on the roads across the country, except in the southern regions. This may pose a danger to drivers, so special caution is advised on central and northern highways.
The wind will be northwesterly, with gusts of 5-12 m/s. However, the greatest danger awaits residents in the southern, eastern, and central parts of the country, as well as in Sumy region, where gusts may reach 17-22 m/s. At night in the south of the country, gusts can reach up to 25 m/s.
Overall, unpredictable weather with temperature fluctuations and strong wind gusts is expected in Ukraine over the weekend. Therefore, it is important to follow safety and caution rules, especially on the roads.
