Operations against Ukrainian military personnel, as well as the sabotage of territorial recruitment and social support centers, are overseen by the structures of the Main Intelligence Directorate and the Federal Security Service of Russia. This was stated by Andrey Kovalenko, the head of the Center for Counteracting Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, on Sunday, February 2. "Operations against military forces and the sabotage of recruitment centers are managed by the GRU and FSB of Russia. Simultaneously, the media campaign that has been ongoing since 2022 is intensifying, but especially significant efforts to undermine mobilization and engage in the media sphere (bloggers, bots, social networks) have been invested by Russians since 2024," Kovalenko emphasized. It is worth noting that on February 2, an explosion occurred near the district territorial recruitment and social support center in Pavlograd, Dnipropetrovsk region. Earlier, at a gas station in the city of Pyriatyn, Poltava region, during the escort of conscripts to a training center, an unknown assailant shot a serviceman from the Poltava recruitment center, took his weapon, and fled with one of the mobilized individuals. They were later apprehended.
