It all began in the summer of 2024 when a 35-year-old Ukrainian, with two higher education degrees, was mobilized in Lviv. After training, he found himself on the front lines in Chasovyi Yar, where fighting never ceased.
Instead of the usual city life, "Jesus" lived in a basement, enduring daily mortar shelling and drone attacks. Rotations were delayed, and month after month he continued his mission: to hold the defense and prevent a breach.

But everything changed on Christmas Eve. After "Jesus" sustained serious injuries during a mortar attack, his hope for rescue came from "Santa." This man not only evacuated the wounded soldier but also promised not to leave him behind, even if he had to carry him. Under the cover of thick fog, they walked two kilometers to the evacuation point, where "Jesus" was transported to a stabilization center.
When he arrived at the hospital, he saw normal food for the first time in a long while – potatoes with salad, which felt like a true miracle. But the most emotional moment was calling his mother on Christmas. After months of silence, she heard her son's voice and burst into tears of joy.
Today "Jesus" continues to recover and dreams of his first vacation. For him, this story is not just about himself, but about everyone who steadfastly defends Ukraine.
