From time to time, shocking footage of the execution of Ukrainian prisoners by Russian occupiers surfaces online.

In July 2022, one of the most horrific crimes committed by the invaders against Ukrainian POWs during the full-scale war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine occurred – on the night of July 29, an explosion erupted at a correctional facility in Olenivka.

That day, over 50 Ukrainian prisoners of war lost their lives.

Out of 193 individuals, fewer than twenty returned home, while around 120 went missing.

In August 2022, a video surfaced showing severed limbs and a head, likely of a Ukrainian prisoner, on the wall of a house on Nagornaya Street, 21 in Popasna.

In February 2023, a video emerged online depicting the execution of an injured unarmed Ukrainian soldier in western Novobakhmutivka.

In March of the same year, the world was shaken by footage capturing the execution of prisoner Alexander Matsievsky, following his words “Glory to Ukraine.”

In December 2023, a video surfaced showing the execution of two Ukrainian soldiers from the 45th OSB near Stepne as they surrendered.

On December 27, a video was released showing occupiers executing three Ukrainian fighters from the 82nd Airborne Brigade, captured between Verbove and Robotyne.

In January 2024, near the village of Novomykhailivka, Russian troops executed six Ukrainian soldiers from the 23rd Separate Mechanized Brigade.
