On the night of November 7 to 8, 2024, Russia launched a large-scale airstrike on Ukraine, utilizing a wide array of weaponry. The bombardment began around 6:00 PM on November 7 and continued into the morning. The enemy struck with a ballistic missile "Iskander-M," which was fired from the Rostov region. Four guided air-to-surface missiles X-59/69 were launched from the airspace of the Belgorod region, alongside 92 strike drones Shahed and unidentified drones launched from the areas of Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Orel, and occupied Crimea. Additionally, enemy tactical aviation carried out strikes with guided bombs on the territories of the Kharkiv and Sumy regions. This was reported by the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Ukrainian defense forces swiftly responded to the attack. The defense against the assault involved anti-aircraft missile troops, aviation, mobile fire groups of the Air Forces, as well as electronic warfare units.
Thanks to the coordinated efforts of our forces, by morning, four guided air-to-surface missiles X-59/69 and 62 enemy drones were shot down across various regions of Ukraine, including Odesa, Mykolaiv, Kyiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Poltava, Kirovohrad, Zhytomyr, Chernihiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Khmelnytskyi, and Ivano-Frankivsk.
Another 26 drones were lost in different regions of Ukraine, with one downed in the country’s airspace. At the time of publication, combat operations are ongoing, and the defense forces continue to make efforts to protect the civilian population.
Unfortunately, as a result of the shelling, civilian residents were harmed, and residential and infrastructure buildings were damaged in the Odesa, Kharkiv, Sumy, and Khmelnytskyi regions.
It is worth noting that the Russians attacked the Kyiv region: casualties have been reported, and there is destruction. As a result of the enemy attack, 6 private houses, 4 vehicles were damaged, grass cover was set on fire, and a gas station, which is currently out of service, was also affected, with reports of injuries.
