Russian attack on Ukraine: 88 "Shahed" drones shot down, causing destruction across multiple regions.

Thanks to the coordinated efforts of air defense, 88 enemy drones were successfully shot down. As a result of the attack, infrastructure in several regions of Ukraine was damaged, including residential buildings and vehicles.

On the night of November 29, 2024, starting at 18:30, Russia launched a large-scale attack on Ukraine, deploying 132 strike drones (UAVs) of the "Shahed" type along with other unidentified drones. The assault originated from the directions of Oryol, Millerovo, Kursk, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk. Enemy drones targeted various regions of Ukraine, particularly Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Sumy, Kharkiv, Poltava, Zhytomyr, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Odesa. This information is reported by the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In response to the attack, all available air defense resources were mobilized. Aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare (EW) systems, and mobile fire groups of the Air Forces and Defense Forces of Ukraine actively countered the assault. During the combat operations, 88 enemy drones were shot down.

As of 09:00, the highest number of downed drones was recorded in the regions of Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Sumy, Kharkiv, Poltava, Zhytomyr, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Odesa.

As a result of active EW countermeasures by the Defense Forces of Ukraine, 41 UAVs were lost, likely due to failures in control systems or signal jamming. One of the drones reportedly returned to Russia due to technical malfunctions.

The attack caused significant damage to infrastructure in several Ukrainian regions. Residential buildings, both private and apartment complexes, were damaged. Additionally, vehicles and other properties were affected. The injured are receiving necessary medical assistance. In light of the destruction, local authorities are actively working to mitigate the aftermath and provide aid to citizens.

It is worth noting that in the Dnipro district of Kyiv, an enemy drone damaged a children's clinic, resulting in one injury.
