Russia launched an attack on Ukraine with 102 drones; air defense intercepted 59 "Shahed" drones, but some managed to hit their targets.

On the night of January 31, 2025, the Russian army conducted a large-scale airstrike on Ukraine, deploying 102 drones, including strike "Shahed" drones and various types of decoy drones. This information is reported by the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The launches were carried out from Russian territory, specifically from Kursk, Bryansk, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, and also from occupied Crimea - the Chauda training ground.

The defense of Ukrainian airspace was provided by anti-aircraft missile forces, mobile fire groups, radio-electronic warfare units of the Air Force, and other defense forces. Thanks to the effective operation of Ukrainian air defense, 59 enemy drones were shot down in Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi, Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv, and Odesa regions. Additionally, the enemy lost 37 decoy drones locally without negative consequences for Ukraine.

As a result of the airstrike, facilities in the Sumy, Odesa, and Cherkasy regions were affected.

Recall the drone strike on Sumy: the number of casualties has risen to 9, and rescuers have completed their search efforts. There are already nine dead, and another 13 people were injured, including an 8-year-old girl. The police are documenting the war crime.
