Clients of PrivatBank are receiving requests to provide consent for the use of a digital handwritten signature (DHSP), as well as to update their personal information.
This is reported on the "Minfin" portal, where inquiries can be submitted to financial institutions.
A PrivatBank client received a notification from the bank through the app, stating the need to consent to the use of the digital handwritten signature (DHSP) as a sample signature in the due diligence process. PrivatBank explained that this will provide additional protection against fraudsters, as the bank will be able to compare signed documents in the future to confirm that the signature belongs to the client.
PrivatBank clients are encouraged to click "I Agree" if they consent, or to update their information at a bank branch. One client noted that after providing consent, there were no issues with their accounts, and later they were asked to fill out a form that included a clause about banking secrecy.
Other PrivatBank users have also reported similar requests from the financial institution.
Previously, PrivatBank clarified that such requests are part of the process of updating client information, which the bank is required to conduct in accordance with the law. Additionally, requests for permission to disclose information pertain to cooperation with banks in the USA, where PrivatBank has correspondent accounts.
